Elevator Rope
Application (8 X 19 Group)
1).8 x 19 (12/6/1)- Used mainly for Small Workshop Hoist and Slings.
2). 8 x 19 Seale (9/9/1) - Elevator Hoist and Compensator Ropes, Tag Lines on shovels, Grab holding and Closing Lines.
These ropes are available with fibre core only, as the applications call for severe reverse bending.
They have lower breaking strength as compared to 6 Strand Ropes owing to lower area of steel cross section and higher area of fibre cross section.
The larger sized cores make them more resistant to shock loading and vibration but less resistant to distortion and crushing. Elevator Ropes are manufactured with Sisal Core in order to provide better support.
They are made from Low Tensile Grade Steel Wires owing to the requirement or high resistance to reverse bending.
